OFFER OF A LESSON SLOT:
I have many enquiries for lesson slots and so politely request that offers of lesson slots are either accepted or declined within 24 hours of being offered. If I have heard nothing after 24 hours, the lesson slot will be made available to the next family on my waiting list.
NO CONTRACT REQUIRED:
Lessons can start and stop at any time - no notice period is required. In addition, there is no minimum or maximum number of lessons.
LESSON CANCELLATIONS:
Booked lessons must be cancelled as soon as possible and before the start of the lesson, otherwise the full lesson fee will apply.
VERY REGULAR CANCELLATIONS:
If lessons are being cancelled more often than not, I will initially speak to the parents/carers to try to resolve the issue. If it cannot be resolved, I will have to stop the lessons and make the lesson slot available to others.
ARRIVAL TIME: Please do not arrive at the teaching cabin for your lesson more than a couple of minutes before the start time because there is no waiting room.
LATE ARRIVALS:
Sometimes, people are running slightly late. Please note that this would result in a reduced lesson time and the full lesson fee would still apply.
LESSON REMINDERS:
To help parents/carers, I will send out a reminder message on the day of your child's lesson. Please let me know if you would like to opt out of the lesson reminders.
OUTSTANDING LESSON PAYMENTS:
All previous lessons must be paid for in order for further lessons to take place. To help, I send out lesson payment reminder messages if lessons have not been paid after a few days.
LESSONS ON HOLD:
Once regular weekly lessons are underway, if lessons then need to be put on hold for longer than 4 weeks in a row, a weekly payment of 50% of the lesson fee can be paid in order to reserve the lesson slot until the tutee is ready to resume lessons. If no such payments are made, the lesson slot will be made available to others.
TUTEE BEHAVIOUR:
I am an approachable and kind tutor who likes to make my lessons fun and child-friendly. However, I still expect tutees to demonstrate polite and sensible behaviour. In the rare event that a tutee displays poor behaviour, I will use my skills as a fully-trained, experienced classroom teacher to try and resolve the issue in a professional manner. This will include informing the parent/carer during or at the end of the lesson. I will also ask the parent/carer to be present during any subsequent lessons. For in person lessons, this means sitting on the comfy chairs in the teaching room with us. For online lessons, it means the parent must be sat next to the child throughout each lesson. If this does not resolve the problem, then lessons will unfortunately need to come to an end. Fortunately, this is very unusual - my tutees are typically well-behaved and a pleasure to teach!
